ARCHDALE, NC (May 22, 2008)- Earl Pearson Jr. and the Bobby Labonte Racing Team will travel to West Plains Missouri and compete at West Plains Motor Speedway for the $42,000 to win Show-Me 100. This mega event is expected to draw many of the top dirt late model drivers in the country. Earl has had success at this event in previous years setting fast time and finishing 4th in 1999. Earl will have a little more confidence this weekend after visiting the doctor this past week and having his cast removed from an accident earlier this year. This event will be the first event without the cast that Earl has competed in since breaking his right wrist back in April.
Earl and the team competed in a pair of Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series events this past weekend in Iowa and Illinois. On Friday Earl competed at Farley Speedway and had to use a series provisional to start the feature event. Earl would start 23rd in the feature and advanced to a solid top ten finish finishing 9th. Then on Saturday Earl would compete at LaSalle Speedway and again would struggle in qualifying and his heat race relegating him to use another series provisional based on series points to start the feature. Again Earl started 23rd and advanced to 8th at the checkers earning the Hard Charger Award of the race. Earl is currently second in the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series national points standing just 5 points behind Steve Casebolt for first.
